What moves a Malang quote up or down?
Species does most of the work. Pinewood anchors the bottom of a band, red cedar the middle, thermowood and figured cedar the top, and on a 2×2 m cabin those choices sit thirty million rupiah apart. Glass comes next: one viewing panel is cheap, a full glazed front is not, and a frameless glazed corner is really a different cabin on the same footprint.
Then comes the meter. An Araya cluster house that already reads 7,700 VA needs wiring and nothing else. A house near Ijen on 2,200 VA needs a PLN change of capacity — paid by the owner — and often a long run from a consumer unit at the far end of the building. Guesthouses in Batu that already have three phase can take a larger cabin for no extra electrical work at all.
Access is the fourth factor and the one most often forgotten. A Blimbing ground-floor room a van can park beside is quick. A terrace in Bumiaji reached by ninety metres of footpath is not, and the handling days show as their own line rather than disappearing into a rounded-up total. Distance itself is not charged: a survey is free anywhere from Klojen to Pujon.
Monthly cost once it is installed
For three or four sessions a week: a dry cabin costs IDR 200,000–500,000 a month, infrared IDR 100,000–250,000, a steam room IDR 300,000–600,000 and a cold plunge IDR 300,000–700,000. Malang's cool nights help on both ends — cabins lose less heat than on the coast, and plunge chillers cycle less often.
Consumables are small but real: sauna stones every few years, a generator flush on schedule with a softener if your water is hard, filter cartridges and an ozone or UV lamp for the plunge. Reckon on a couple of million rupiah a year for a timber cabin, and a good deal more for a tiled one.
Warranty covers the structure for two years. Heaters and generators keep their factory cover of 1–2 years, and because we stock Harvia, Sawo and Tylö spares in Indonesia a failed element is a short wait rather than an import order.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no fixed price on the site?
Because two rooms of the same size can differ by forty per cent once timber, glazing, meter capacity and access are known. Publishing bands and then quoting exactly after a survey is more useful than a single number that changes on the first visit.
Is a build in Batu more expensive than one in Kota Malang?
Not for the cabin itself. What can differ is handling where a van cannot reach, plus roofing and decking on an outdoor unit. Travel to Batu, Pujon or Lawang is not charged as a separate item.
How does payment work?
Fifty per cent deposit when the quote is signed, the balance before installation begins, then handover once the heat test is done. The figure holds unless the specification itself changes.
Can I get a figure before booking a survey?
Yes. Room dimensions plus a photograph of the PLN meter, sent from the contact page, are enough for an indicative band on the same working day.
